I posted a BIG Announcement on my personal Facebook page, that I wanted to share with you, , my readers.
Now that we’ve told some of our family and favorite people privately, Dan and I can share our big announcement, even if it is a bit bittersweet. I know it will come as a complete shock to some of you.
After some soul searching, lots of conversations and prayers, Dan, the girls and I have decided to move home to New Orleans to help my Dad and Carol (my stepmom).
As many of you are aware, Carol was diagnosed in Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, this past summer. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and doing ok, despite her high pain level, etc. We will miss all our local friends and family terribly but we are ready for the next adventure.
Dan will be traveling to New Orleans in the next few weeks to finalize a position with a local New Orleans hospital and has already given his notice at work.
I’m a big believer in being authentic. Some of the hardest conversations I ever had to have, I have had in the last two weeks. Making this decision to move back home to help as been one without hesitation. However, telling your children, your best friend, and friends who are family that you are leaving is very difficult.
However, we are looking forward to this new adventure we are about to embark on in 2 months. It will be an interesting transition from a family of 4 to a multi-generational family of 6.
If anything, there will lots of inspiration and things to write about 🙂
